Kumanote Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 9, 2026
Kumanote is a music player that connects to your personal Subsonic-compatible server (e.g., Navidrome). Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data Kumanote collects, how it is used, and your choices.
1. Data You Provide
To use Kumanote you enter your music server URL, username, and password. These credentials are stored only on your device and are sent exclusively to the server you configure. We never receive, store, or have access to your server credentials.
2. Data Collected Automatically
- Crash reports — We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash logs (stack traces, device model, OS version). These contain no personal information and are used solely to fix bugs.
- Analytics events — We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage events (e.g., "subscription purchased", "radio started"). These help us understand which features are used. No personally identifiable information is included.
- Subscription data — Google Play Billing processes your subscription. Kumanote receives a purchase token from Google to verify your subscription status. We do not see or store your payment method, billing address, or financial details.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
- Music library metadata — Album, artist, song, and genre information synced from your server, cached locally for performance.
- Downloaded music files — Stored in the app's private storage when you choose to download songs for offline listening.
- Listening preferences — Theme, playback quality, replay gain settings, and taste profile data (play counts, skip counts, thumbs up/down) are stored locally on your device.
- Trial information — Your trial start date is stored in encrypted storage on your device.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is sent only to:
- Your configured music server (to stream and sync music)
- Google (Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics, Google Play Billing)
5. Data Retention
All user-generated data (credentials, downloads, preferences) is stored on your device and deleted when you uninstall the app or clear app data. Crash and analytics data is retained by Firebase for up to 90 days.
6. Children's Privacy
Kumanote is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Your Choices
- You can clear all local data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in Android Settings.
- You can manage your subscription through Google Play.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
